“Make Your Mother’s Day Something Extra Special This Year”

This year, I’d like to encourage you to remember your mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, or other who has “been like mother” to you: not just with a card or phone call on May 8, but with frequent interactions over the next year. Resolve that you will stop your busyness for a few minutes every few days to place a call or send a note. What you do doesn’t have to be fancy or take a long time, but it does have to be personal.

The only way to honor your mother is to actually show her that you love her; don’t just assume that she knows. I’ve polled young and old moms...
